The supporters of Venezuela booed when October 04 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 5 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Gaspar didn't get a good kick on the ball. 9 minutes into the match, October 04's Emilio Cascajares sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jonathan Ferrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After taking down the ball on October 04's corner Claudinei Custódio fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Jonathan Ferrant quite easily take care of the ball. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. A sloppy throw-in by Salvador Gisbert in the 31st minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by October 04's Stavros Bantis. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emilio Cascajares, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. When Emilio Cascajares came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the October 04 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Emilio Cascajares couldn't finish the play. When the match had gone on for 58 minutes, Emilio Cascajares put it in 5-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. October 04 were awarded a corner in the 63th minute after Venezuela's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Fellipe Valle took the corner. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 76th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eskil Vester having to interfere. Tomas Illescas could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 77th minute of the match, but Eskil Vester made a huge save. Venezuela's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomas Illescas in the 78th minute. It was a well-played corner which Joshua Secada managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. After 82 minutes, Stavros Bantis mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the October 04 and the Venezuela players grew even worse after the yellow card. Stavros Bantis kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. In the 83rd minute of the match Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Eskil Vester showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 84 minutes play. Tomas Illescas hit a great ball. In the 87th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emilio Cascajares in the 92nd minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Venezuela's zone, Emilio Cascajares stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonathan Ferrant came out of the goal and Emilio Cascajares tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the Venezuela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for October 04.
