After 24 minutes Los Hijos de Doña Beija's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. Pascual Carballar hit a great freekick 27 minutes into the match. Colombia's Pedro Manzanares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Indiana Jones in the 28th minute of play. After 33 minutes Los Hijos de Doña Beija's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Axel Montenegro who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Colombia's corner Axel Montenegro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Higinio Aguilera quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the Los Hijos de Doña Beija defense, Axel Montenegro kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Higinio Aguilera. The Los Hijos de Doña Beija fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Higinio Aguilera should have stopped the shot. Higinio Aguilera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Santino Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. 40 minutes into the match, Los Hijos de Doña Beija's goal looked a bit too open when Abram Sarmiento came free, but Higinio Aguilera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Los Hijos de Doña Beija's Albino Brion got a good chance for a goal in the 83rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After some careless play in the Colombia defense, Luís Fábio Rocha kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Manzanares. The Colombia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Manzanares should have stopped the shot. Los Hijos de Doña Beija walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
