In the 15th minute, Tomas Illescas ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nelsinho Leite was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 22nd minute. João Pirani struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Baldomero Gipuzkoa in the 56th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute of the match Vascogoianiense FC got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aírton Sousa ran over to the corner to take the kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Baldomero Gipuzkoa in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Aírton Sousa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. In the 62nd minute, Baldomero Gipuzkoa made a precise shot to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. If Patricio Costa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. In the 80th match minute, Vascogoianiense FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sidnei Leão to maneuver through the defense. After some fancy dribbling in the 84th minute, Aírton Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Vascogoianiense FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Aírton Sousa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonathan Ferrant breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 88 minutes into the match, Baldomero Gipuzkoa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Baldomero Gipuzkoa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. 94 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Baldomero Gipuzkoa came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gilmar Monteiro in the 95th minute of play. 96 minutes into the game, Vascogoianiense FC's Gilmar Monteiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-1. Vascogoianiense FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Venezuela for a fine match.
