Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. 10 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jailson Soares made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After 18 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. If Roderick van Boxel had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 18th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Jailson Soares made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute of play. Breguete FC's Jailson Soares played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Eugênio de Carvalho in the 36th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 44 minutes into the match, Breguete FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Jailson Soares reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jean Alves charged in rather forcefully in the 45th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jean Alves the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 48th minute after Breguete FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Jailson Soares despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jailson Soares breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 57thth minute of the game Eugênio de Carvalho who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jean Alves kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. After 68 played minutes Breguete FC got a freekick which was hit by Eugênio de Carvalho. In the 71st minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Jailson Soares. Jailson Soares yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Jailson Soares was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Cristian Sancho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Cristian Sancho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-4. Jailson Soares didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cristian Sancho went, in the 85th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-5 was the resulting score. In the 88th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jailson Soares saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jailson Soares made a fantastic save in the 90th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. After 93 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Juan Sebastián Puig. Felix Montenegros short, quick shot in the 96thth minute got Jailson Soares to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The Breguete FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Ecuador were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
