Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugênio de Carvalho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 12thth minute, Jonathan Ferrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Jose Correa got a free kick in the 13th minute. Benê Fernandez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Jonathan Ferrant made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Roderick van Boxel sent off a good shot on target. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Tomas Illescas in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jailson Soares prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 27th minute Venezuela were awarded a corner. Tomas Illescas went to the cornerflag to take it. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 28th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Breguete FC. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roderick van Boxel in the 31st minute of the match. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eugênio de Carvalho in the 35th minute of play. In the 38th minute, Tomas Illescas made a precise shot to the right of Jailson Soares. Breguete FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. 40 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Benê Fernandez came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Breguete FC's Attila Iványi got a good chance for a goal in the 70th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. There was no doubt that Breguete FC were the better team. Breguete FC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
