Luis Andino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 20th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arana Álvarez in the 23rd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arana Álvarez got free with Julio Vera in the 24th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. After 51 played minutes PiCaNTeS FC got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Ruggeri. 55 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's Arana Álvarez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arana Álvarez in the 58th minute of play. Arana Álvarez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
