Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Arana Álvarez took the kick off in the first half of the match. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rodrigo De Paul in the 6th minute. 7 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Alfredo Otoniel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho blasted a shot towards the goal in the 11th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alfredo Otoniel having to make a save. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Arana Álvarez, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 16th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alfredo Otoniel saved PiCaNTeS FC from getting behind. In the 17th minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. Rodrigo De Paul took the ball and in the 19 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. PiCaNTeS FC's Alfredo Otoniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 23rd minute of play. In the 26th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alfredo Otoniel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PiCaNTeS FC's Alfredo Otoniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play. 36 minutes into the match, PiCaNTeS FC's Arana Álvarez sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 37 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Arana Álvarez. Ovidio Ignazio hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. 42 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PiCaNTeS FC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho got a free kick in the 42nd minute. Celestino Libertad's shot from long distance in the 43rd minute was not bad at all, but Ecuador's Julio Vera knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Arana Álvarez in the 47th minute. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Daniel Zorita was the one to do the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Arana Álvarez managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PiCaNTeS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Arana Álvarez was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alfredo Otoniel made an important save on a dangerous shot by Cristian Sancho in the 54th minute. When Juan Foyth fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored PiCaNTeS FC's protests and gave Juan Foyth a yellow card for diving instead. Juan Foyth kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. A collision led to PiCaNTeS FC getting a freekick after 58 minutes play. Juan Foyth hit a great ball. Alfredo Otoniel acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 59th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Zorita. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Antonio Arias got a free kick in the 61st minute. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Rodrigo De Paul in the 62nd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Everardo Calvino in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 66th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Alfredo Otoniel could save by the left post. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Alfredo Otoniel made a huge save. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Everardo Calvino recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 77 minutes, Everardo Calvino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. PiCaNTeS FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Everardo Calvino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Camilo Gisbert hit a great freekick 78 minutes into the match. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Everardo Calvino came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 81st minute, Luis Andino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Everardo Calvino took the ball and in the 82 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Julio Vera. Julio Vera dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. If Everardo Calvino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 87th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 92 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. Everardo Calvino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
