Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Ecuador's Daniel Zorita started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 2 played minutes Congo Bongo got a freekick which was hit by Franz Beckenbauer. With a little luck, Congo Bongo's Máté Márton got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 10th minute, one of Congo Bongo:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Congo Bongo. After 12 minutes Congo Bongo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. In the 15th minute, Omar Erramun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Omar Erramun kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máté Márton having to interfere. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Iaki in the 32nd minute of play. Agustín Saelices made in the 35th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Felix Montenegro immediately put the ball in play. Congo Bongo's Máté Márton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 64th minute of play. In the 66th minute Sergio Austin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máté Márton having to interfere. In the 86th minute Sergio Austin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Froilan Iaki, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Omar Erramun hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. Congo Bongo succeeded in salvaging a draw, even though Ecuador had controlled the match.
