An unexpectedly hard shot by Natanael Furlan in the 34th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Natanael Furlan went, in the 34th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Oséas Albuquerque showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Jukatriz's Arif Ozan Sureha fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side.

Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cleto Matxin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 56thth minute of the game Cleto Matxin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cleto Matxin in the 57th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. The tension between the Ecuador and the Jukatriz players grew even worse after the yellow card.
