In the 8th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Luis Andino had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a fantastic save in the 15th minute, when Albano Oliverio sent off a good shot on target. Cristian Sancho might have been able to make a better finish in the 19th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nestor Mikeldi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cristian Sancho ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of BWANA FC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Sebastián Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. 21 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Aquiles Honesto came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 23rd minute of play forced BWANA FC's goalkeeper Nestor Mikeldi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 24 minutes BWANA FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Albano Oliverio went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Aquiles Honesto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. In the 39th minute, Albano Oliverio reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Julio Vera. The goal made the score 2-0. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

If Fernan Platon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 50th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 51st minute, Daniel Zorita fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nestor Mikeldi, passed just outside the right post. In the 55th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nestor Mikeldi was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Agustín Saelices could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 56th minute of the match, but Nestor Mikeldi made a huge save. 66 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nestor Mikeldi. Cristian Sancho showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Nestor Mikeldi in the 71st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Nestor Mikeldi. BWANA FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Albano Oliverio in the 77th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 83rdth minute, Nestor Mikeldi skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 90th minute the ball was on its way in behind BWANA FC's goalkeeper Nestor Mikeldi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 92nd match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luis Andino to maneuver through the defense. Felix Montes charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felix Montes the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In a very dangerous position, a player in Ecuador fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 94th minute. Penalty!
