Peru's Eliseo Mina managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Humberto Muc in the 33 minute of the game. 35 minutes into the match, RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Mustafa Arif Devrim reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Mustafa Arif Devrim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Tenorio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 96th minute Peru were awarded a corner. Eliseo Mina went to the cornerflag to take it. It was a well-played corner which Alonso Berganza managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. The RIVER y NADA MÁS 09.12.18 players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
