Luz Tejedor fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Agustín Rossi having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 6th minute of play forced Los Trip's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Agustín Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 12th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Los Trip's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Agustín Rossi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Los Trip's goalkeeper Agustín Rossi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Edelmiro Neto hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Agustín Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play. The supporters of Peru booed when Los Trip was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 46 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cipriano Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Milagros Fraga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Agustín Rossi. Los Trip's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Milagros Fraga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Bruno Capello stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Agustín Rossi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute of the match Peru got a corner. Los Trip's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Los Trip's Agustín Rossi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 56th minute of play. Peru's Efraim Gilabert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Edelmiro Neto, made in the 66th minute of the game. Julian Murillo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Agustín Rossi made a huge save. A collision led to Los Trip getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Edelmiro Neto hit a great ball. Agustín Rossi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 75th minute of play. 76 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Capello came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bruno Capello in the 81st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Rolando Noboa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Los Trip made a substitution. Luís Fernando Calderón De La Barca replaced Bruno Capello. Edelmiro Neto made in the 83rd minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Peru's Alonso Berganza. In the 85thth minute of the game Rafael Gallo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Los Trip's Agustín Rossi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jacinto Frasquito hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. With a little luck, Los Trip's Agustín Rossi got control of the ball when Eliseo Mina tried to sneak it across the goal line.
