Mexico's Dante Lacasa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Mexico from getting a goal against them. 11 minutes into the match, Ilgaz Şirvan notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Abel Bueno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Joel Gaona, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abel Bueno showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 17th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Abel Bueno saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mexico's defense didn't have a chance, in the 28th minute, when Caio da Rocha scored to the left of an out of position Dante Lacasa, making the score, 2-0. After 35 minutes Mexico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Miki Jungslund who took care of the corner kick. After taking down the ball on Qikiqtarjuaq FC's corner Quinton Marcheterre fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Dante Lacasa quite easily take care of the ball. After having played for 38 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexico's supporters crossed their fingers, but Lautaro Mancebo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 44 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Abel Bueno. Abel Bueno was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After a rather tough play, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Dominik Oryl got a free kick in the 47th minute. Lautaro Mancebo struck a weak shot in the 48th minute. Abel Bueno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. Joel Gaona made a great header on Mexico's corner, it was just that Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Abel Bueno managed to reach the ball for a save. Abel Bueno made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 58th minute. In the 72nd minute, Lorenzo Cazalla hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Qikiqtarjuaq FC made a substitution. Bastien Aldridge replaced Gary Thomason. A collision led to Mexico getting a freekick after 72 minutes play. Lorenzo Cazalla hit a great ball. 73 minutes into the game, Qikiqtarjuaq FC's Miki Jungslund nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Dante Lacasa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Caio da Rocha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Abel Bueno threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. An unexpectedly hard shot by Caio da Rocha in the 95th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mexico's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Qikiqtarjuaq FC had won, even though Mexico had held more of the ball.
