Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Osvaldo Frutos's shot from short distance in the 21st minute. Valentin Ospetsu showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 23rd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 25th minute, Julian Murillo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Peru's supporters rose to their feet, but Julian Murillo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Valentin Ospetsu breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. If Osvaldo Frutos had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
