Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Albano Argider made a throw-in in the 9th minute of the game. In the 10th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Emil Arendarski saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 15th minute of play forced CA Juventud Unida's goalkeeper Emil Arendarski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Rolando Noboa came out of the goal in the 17th minute to try and stop a shot by CA Juventud Unida's Rainer Marthaler. But to his dismay, Rainer Marthaler quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Emil Arendarski made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 22nd minute of play. 24 minutes into the match, Peru's Julian Murillo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Emil Arendarski narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Rolando Noboa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rainer Marthaler in the 30th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Milagros Fraga in the 32nd minute of play forced CA Juventud Unida's goalkeeper Emil Arendarski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee felt a red card was in order, 48 minutes into the game, when Emmanuel Reyes put in a rough tackle. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 47th minute of the game. One of Peru:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CA Juventud Unida:s goal. The score was 2-0 after a penalty in the 51st minute, where CA Juventud Unida:s Saverio Petrigai tricked Peru:s Rolando Noboa with a difficult ball by the left post. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rainer Marthaler stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Modesto Cheche hit a great freekick 58 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Milagros Fraga got free with Emil Arendarski in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The corner led Peru's Luz Tejedor to fire away a dangerous shot which Emil Arendarski despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Witomir Milko got a throw-in 65 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Saverio Petrigai. In the 67th minute of the game Witomir Milko made a throw-in which Delmiro Steven played forward. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Saverio Petrigai in the 70th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jesús Banana in the 71st minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 74th minute. Luz Tejedor made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that CA Juventud Unida's Emil Arendarski managed to reach the ball for a save. Clodoveo Hanni hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. Clodoveo Hanni charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Clodoveo Hanni the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Peru's Rafael Gallo was substituted for Julian Murillo. After 86 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for CA Juventud Unida! In the 94th minute the ball was on its way in behind Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Rainer Marthaler hit a great freekick 99 minutes into the match. The CA Juventud Unida support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
