Benito Sanz was out of position in the 10 minute of play, and Ştefan Bobeica capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Ştefan Bobeica really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. Aaron Alcocer hit a great freekick 12 minutes into the match. Ştefan Bobeica's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 13thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Felipe van Basten kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Benito Sanz. That made the score 2-0 in the 15 minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Felipe van Basten came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Qjos MiLLano booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Rubio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ştefan Bobeica's shot from short distance in the 22nd minute. When Ştefan Bobeica came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Qjos MiLLano fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Ştefan Bobeica couldn't finish the play. If Ştefan Bobeica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 41st minute, Ştefan Bobeica got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 43 minutes into the game, Qjos MiLLano's Ştefan Bobeica nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-0. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 46th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The audience was convinced that Ştefan Bobeica's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 51st minute of the game. Felipe van Basten charged in rather forcefully in the 53rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felipe van Basten the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Qjos MiLLano's Felipe van Basten got a free kick in the 54th minute. In the 57th minute, Felipe van Basten hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Ştefan Bobeica had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ştefan Bobeica in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Benito Sanz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 69 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ştefan Bobeica came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Qjos MiLLano were awarded a corner in the 70th minute after Costa Rica's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Erik Vale took the corner. Erik Vale made a great header on Qjos MiLLano's corner, it was just that Costa Rica's Benito Sanz managed to reach the ball for a save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ştefan Bobeica in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. In the 76th minute, Luís Fernando de Andrade hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Axel Tasis took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Dário Neiva. Dário Neiva dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-1. 87 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Ştefan Bobeica came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felipe van Basten in the 88th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ştefan Bobeica might have been able to make a better finish in the 92nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Ştefan Bobeica ran back to his position shaking his head. Ştefan Bobeica blasted a shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Benito Sanz having to make a save. In the 94th minute Ştefan Bobeica shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Qjos MiLLano had played much better football throughout.
