A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by George Messi in the 21st minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that George Messi couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, George Messi stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and George Messi tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd match minute, Three Lions FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kajetan Filanowski to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a free kick in the 53rd minute. When Daniel Zorita got the opportunity to take care of a free kick it resulted in a really dangerous shot that almost went in the goal. Instead the ball went too high, a missed opportunity for Ecuador. With a little luck, Three Lions FC's George Buffon got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, George Messi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Kajetan Filanowski hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from George Messi in the 71st minute of the match. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Three Lions FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. George Kane didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 79th minute, Antonio Arias hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by George Messi in the 80th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Three Lions FC were awarded a corner in the 82th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. George Kroos took the corner. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling George Messi in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
