A collision led to Belgrano de Pibasog getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Clemente Gaizkine hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 38th minute of play forced Belgrano de Pibasog's goalkeeper Bernardo Raggio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 41st minute Joaquin Prats shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Raggio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 44th minute of play forced Belgrano de Pibasog's goalkeeper Bernardo Raggio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Peru booed when Belgrano de Pibasog was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Gaizkine didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Judas Verón made a kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Julian Murillo in the 55th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Bernardo Raggio saved Belgrano de Pibasog from getting behind. Peru's Rolando Noboa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Judas Verón in the 60th minute of play. Belgrano de Pibasog made a substitution. Garcia Morros replaced Blue Dolar. In the 71st minute, Justino Frederico hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Belgrano de Pibasog's Melquiades Henrico was substituted for Honorato Jerrold. Justino Frederico hit a great freekick 71 minutes into the match. Luz Tejedor's shot from long distance was a real pearl which went to the right and just passed Bernardo Raggio - 1-1 was put on the score board in the 72nd minute. Peru's attentive Eliseo Mina managed to snatch the ball when Clemente Gaizkine made a throw-in in the 76th minute of the game. In the 77th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Raggio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Peru's Eliseo Alcocer was substituted for Moises Gayoso. In the 86th of the match, Eliseo Mina tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Bernardo Raggio got in the way and made a wonderful save. 95 minutes into the match, Peru's Rafael Gallo sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bernardo Raggio narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Despite being the better team, Peru failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
