DIF LEEDS BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. Brazilio Butt showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 6th minute of the match. In the 8th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Brazilio Butt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 17th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 19th minute, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Felix Montenegro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brazilio Butt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Nordlander in the 20th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Dan Verhoeven showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 22 minute of play. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Pál Kormos in the 25th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 27th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brazilio Butt breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brazilio Butt showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Felix Montenegro, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Thanks to some nice moves Pál Kormos could shoot a difficult shot in the 40th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ulf Nordlander in the 41st minute of play. In the 43rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 46 minutes into the game, Eduardo Selmo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. DIF LEEDS BK's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. After a rather tough play, DIF LEEDS BK's Eduardo Selmo got a free kick in the 47th minute. Brazilio Butt took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Pál Kormos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 57th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brazilio Butt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 58 minutes, Ulf Nordlander managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. DIF LEEDS BK's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ulf Nordlander was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Brazilio Butt made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 60th minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Pál Kormos, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. 65 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Eduardo Selmo was slow to take the kick. During this time DIF LEEDS BK's players had a chance to rest. The corner ended in Eduardo Selmo almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 70th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brazilio Butt saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulf Nordlander in the 74th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pál Kormos was shown his second yellow card after 77 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 78 played minutes DIF LEEDS BK got a freekick which was hit by Pál Kormos. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Ulf Nordlander cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 87th minute after DIF LEEDS BK's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Ecuador's Luis Andino got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jerry Jonasson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the referee blew the final whistle, DIF LEEDS BK could leave the field as winners, despite Ecuador having more of the ball for most of the match.
