Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Domingos Lencastre's shot from short distance in the 77th minute. C. A. Adestiempo Juniors's Honorato Primo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 84th minute of play. Domingos Lencastre's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Domingos Lencastre helped the player get up and apologised. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Domingos Lencastre in the 93rd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for C. A. Adestiempo Juniors.
