Everardo Calvino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Everardo Calvino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Calvino in the 33rd minute of play. Venezuela's Alex Chicote quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Carlos Valderrama, made in the 35th minute of the game. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Alex Chicote hit a great ball. When PiCaNTeS FC's Everardo Calvino in the 39th minute got a chance for a shot 39th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Venezuela's goalie prevented a goal. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alfredo Otoniel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 41st minute of play. Gaspar Precioso kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Everardo Calvino stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Everardo Calvino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Alfredo Otoniel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Everardo Calvino in the 63rd minute of play. Everardo Calvino took the ball and in the 69 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. After 72 played minutes PiCaNTeS FC got a freekick which was hit by Oscar Ruggeri. Alex Chicote hit a great freekick 73 minutes into the match. Everardo Calvinos short, quick shot in the 76thth minute got Jonathan Ferrant to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leo Messi in the 78th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Illescas in the 86th minute of play forced PiCaNTeS FC's goalkeeper Alfredo Otoniel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Everardo Calvino in the 88th minute of play. In the 90th minute Everardo Calvino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. PiCaNTeS FC's Alfredo Otoniel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 93rd minute of play. Everardo Calvino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 94thth minute tested the skills of Jonathan Ferrant when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When the final whistle sounded PiCaNTeS FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Venezuela.
