Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Nicolas Roland made the kick off and thus started the match. Mariano Lacasa received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Elpidio Vitin came out and tried to block the shot, but Mariano Lacasa slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 4th minute. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mariano Lacasa in the 7th minute of the match. 12 minutes into the match, Chile's goal looked a bit too open when Nicolas Roland came free, but Thiago Pliego reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Vélez Juniors's Guido Luzaide got a free kick in the 18th minute. Elpidio Vitin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Orlando Casaus in the 20th minute of the match. With a little luck, Vélez Juniors's Elpidio Vitin got control of the ball when Mariano Lacasa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute Nicolas Roland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thiago Pliego made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nicolas Roland in the 32nd minute of play. Mariano Lacasa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Elpidio Vitin having to interfere. If Nicolas Roland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicolas Roland in the 38th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Mariano Lacasa to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute Orlando Casaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elpidio Vitin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 58 minutes into the match, Vélez Juniors's Nicolas Roland sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 58th minute, Nicolas Roland left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Vélez Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. In the 61st minute Nicolas Roland shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Celedonio Eriz made in the 66th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Santos Fonda immediately put the ball in play. A collision led to Chile getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Francisco Carballar hit a great ball. Thiago Pliego stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nicolas Roland's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Elpidio Vitin took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mariano Lacasa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Chile's Mariano Lacasa in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Vélez Juniors's goalie prevented a goal. In the 77th match minute, Vélez Juniors was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Melchor Napier to maneuver through the defense. Mariano Lacasa who after having made a long run got a chance for a shot on goal. Despite a couple of nice moves Elpidio Vitin's wasn't to be fooled and made an easy save when Mariano Lacasa was beeing forced to shoot. 82 minutes into the game, Mariano Lacasa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Elpidio Vitin was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Vélez Juniors's Benicio Rivas was substituted for Alberto Joey. In the 94th minute, Francisco Carballar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 95 in the game by Cristian Naike from a close distance when the talented Thiago Pliego managed to make a qualified save. Chile's players were relieved. Chile were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Vélez Juniors for a fine match.
