After a defensive mix-up in los nadies's zone, Cristian Sancho stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Camilo Isauro came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 42 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Camilo Isauro. Camilo Isauro dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 47 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Camilo Isauro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. The los nadies players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 0-3.

Memo Funes charged in rather forcefully in the 54th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The long shot by Daniel Zorita in the 55th minute really tested Camilo Isauro's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. In the 60th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When the match had gone on for 62 minutes, Amadeo Martxel put it in 1-3 from a short distance just to the right of Julio Vera. Cenan Ergüven kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Camilo Isauro threw himself towards the right post 65 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 67th minute after los nadies's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Camilo Isauro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. los nadies's Camilo Isauro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 79th minute of play. 82 minutes into the game, los nadies's Eldridge Marshall nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-4. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eldridge Marshall in the 87th minute of play. 88 minutes into the game, Juan Laffitte was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. los nadies's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 90th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cristian Sancho to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, los nadies's Camilo Isauro got control of the ball when Luis Andino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ecuador played a much better game than los nadies and deserved their victory. The los nadies players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
