Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Narciso Sindo started the match with the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 3rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgilio Pacifico saved Patricio Rey Futbol Club from getting behind. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Narciso Sindo in the 4th minute of play. Virgilio Pacifico made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 6th minute of play. Rafael Cidro kicked well hit freekick during the 10th minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 11th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Virgilio Pacifico saved Patricio Rey Futbol Club from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 17th minute of play forced Patricio Rey Futbol Club's goalkeeper Virgilio Pacifico to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, Patricio Rey Futbol Club's Teofilo Hustaz got a free kick in the 17th minute. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Narciso Sindo in the 20th minute of play. Virgilio Pacifico showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. A throw-in in the 25th minute of the game was made by Primitivo Andino with Felix Montenegro as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Felix Montenegro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Virgilio Pacifico tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience thought a goal was coming when Narciso Sindo got free with Julio Vera in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Virgilio Pacifico saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 34 minutes into the game, Patricio Rey Futbol Club's Narciso Sindo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Julio Vera made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Narciso Sindo tried to sneak it across the goal line. 37 minutes into the match, Narciso Sindo dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 2-0. In the 42nd minute of the match Daniel Zorita sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Virgilio Pacifico skillfully saved the ball. 46 minutes into the match, Patricio Rey Futbol Club's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Virgilio Pacifico reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. Daniel Zorita might have been able to make a better finish in the 61st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Virgilio Pacifico. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Zorita ran back to his position shaking his head. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Patricio Rey Futbol Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlos Benvide didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 64th minute, Agustín Saelices made a precise shot to the right of Virgilio Pacifico. Patricio Rey Futbol Club's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. In the 68th minute, Teofilo Hustaz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Virgilio Pacifico quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The attack was good, but when Cristian Sancho in the 78th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 85th minute after Patricio Rey Futbol Club's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. In the 88th minute, Patricio Rey Futbol Club's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because Patricio Rey Futbol Club had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
