If Judas Verón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 25th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 27thth minute of the game Monty Rogers who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Belgrano de Pibasog's Bernardo Raggio was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Belgrano de Pibasog's Eustaquio Fortun was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marco Day in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 34th match minute, Belgrano de Pibasog was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maximiano Delgado to maneuver through the defense. Edward Mcdonald scored 0-1 in the 36th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Bernardo Raggio, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 39 minutes into the match, USA's goalkeeper Marco Day had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Judas Verón. After the first half USA were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Judas Verón was the one to do the kick off. Cassius Byrnes short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Bernardo Raggio to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. The corner led USA's Edward Mcdonald to fire away a dangerous shot which Bernardo Raggio despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After 53 minutes, Edward Mcdonald made it 0-2 with a short kick to the right side. Belgrano de Pibasog's Bernardo Raggio tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56th minute, Judas Verón got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Judas Verón couldn't finish the play. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. In the 69th minute Silvio Abadia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Silvio Abadia received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Iulian Ilinca in the 94th minute of play. In the 95th minute Honorato Jerrold shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the final whistle sounded USA left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Belgrano de Pibasog.
