Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Los Payasitos's Ismael Barreto started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Agustín Saelices fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Agustín Saelices a yellow card for diving instead. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. 顾笑源 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Eduardo Coyences made a fantastic save in the 11th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. Los Payasitos's Eduardo Coyences played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 14th minute of play. The supporters of Los Payasitos booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Felix Montes didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 17th minute of the match Joaquín Vásquez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. In the 17th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montenegro to maneuver through the defense. 18 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Barreto came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Eduardo Coyences made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 25th minute. 28 minutes into the match, Los Payasitos's goalkeeper Eduardo Coyences had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Daniel Zorita. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Eduardo Coyences tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 31st match minute, Los Payasitos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 邵伟坚 to maneuver through the defense. After a rather tough play, Los Payasitos's Joaquín Vásquez got a free kick in the 33rd minute. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Luis Andino nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Eduardo Coyences made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. In the 39th minute, 顾笑源 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. When Los Payasitos's 顾笑源 in the 42nd minute got a chance for a shot 42nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. After having played for 46 minutes, 顾笑源 managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Los Payasitos's supporters crossed their fingers, but 顾笑源 was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. After 55 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joaquín Vásquez who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Los Payasitos's Joaquín Vásquez to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Eduardo Coyences made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 61st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Montenegro in the 64th minute of play forced Los Payasitos's goalkeeper Eduardo Coyences to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 74th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eduardo Coyences took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita scored 2-1 in the 77th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Eduardo Coyences, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ismael Barreto in the 80th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eduardo Coyences having to interfere. Ismael Barreto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Ecuador had played much better football throughout.
