Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Daniel Zorita made the kick off and thus started the match. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ulryk Czubski in the 8th minute of the match. Luis Andino took the ball and in the 12 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cláudio Motta. Cláudio Motta dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Ulryk Czubski kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Cláudio Motta narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 20th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. H Romeu's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Daniel Zorita ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but H Romeu's Cláudio Motta did a great save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carmine Righi in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 25thth minute of the game Carmine Righi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. A collision led to H Romeu getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Edu Almeida hit a great ball. In the 28th minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. With a little luck, H Romeu's Cláudio Motta got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 32 minutes into the match, H Romeu's goalkeeper Cláudio Motta had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Cláudio Motta made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Agustín Saelices hit a great ball. Arturo Baruffa kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Carmine Righi to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, H Romeu's Manoel Neiva got a free kick in the 53rd minute. In the 55th match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Montes to maneuver through the defense. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 60th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cláudio Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 63rd minute Carmine Righi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With an all-out effort, H Romeu's Julio Vera threw himself towards the right post 68 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Carmine Righi, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ulryk Czubski got free with Julio Vera in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 75th minute. Cláudio Motta tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 80th match minute, H Romeu was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edu Almeida to maneuver through the defense. H Romeu's Cláudio Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute of play. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 83rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Cláudio Motta having to interfere. Manoel Neiva kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 94th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cláudio Motta saved H Romeu from getting behind. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
