An unexpectedly hard shot by Anastasio Burni in the 8th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 11 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Anastasio Burni came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Cristian Sancho's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jorge Cutberto was relentless in the 15th minute of the game. Humberto Marin struck a weak shot in the 16th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for RIVER PINAMAR fc. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jorge Cutberto having to interfere. Daniel Zorita recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 23rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 25 minutes into the match, RIVER PINAMAR fc's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Jorge Cutberto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Juliano Álvarez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 35th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute Agustín Saelices shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The corner led Ecuador's Felix Montes to fire away a dangerous shot which Jorge Cutberto despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 46th minute of play forced RIVER PINAMAR fc's goalkeeper Jorge Cutberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Daniel Zorita stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 68th minute of the match RIVER PINAMAR fc got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Humberto Marin ran over to the corner to take the kick. Humberto Marin made a great header on RIVER PINAMAR fc's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save. Jorge Cutberto made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 70th minute of play. In the 72nd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led to Ecuador's Felix Montenegro getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. In the 78th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jorge Cutberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 79 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Juliano Álvarez came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
