Chamaicó's Leonel Cefero played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 19th minute of play. In the 21st minute, Cristian Sancho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gerardo Abeitia in the 22nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Daniel Zorita's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Leonel Cefero was relentless in the 25th minute of the game. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sebati Çiftçibaşı in the 26th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Julio Vera saved Ecuador from getting behind. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Leonel Cefero tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gerardo Abeitia in the 29th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 30th minute Chamaicó were awarded a corner. Ismael Cordarrel went to the cornerflag to take it. Cristian Sancho made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Chamaicó's Leonel Cefero managed to reach the ball for a save. Chamaicó's Sebati Çiftçibaşı managed to work through Ecuador's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Sebati Çiftçibaşı dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. 38 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Gerardo Abeitia came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Daniel Zorita made the kick off in the second half. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Leonel Cefero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 57th minute of the match. Felix Montes kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Ismael Cordarrel came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Gerardo Abeitia came up free with the goalie in the 62nd minute, the Chamaicó fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Gerardo Abeitia couldn't finish the play. Daniel Zorita who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Leonel Cefero when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ecuador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Chamaicó.
