Pindobassu EC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Uruguay the free kick. Dorian Hoffmann hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Dorian Hoffmann sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alessandro Pavard kicked well hit freekick during the 24th minute of the match. Jaime Cazalla struck a weak shot in the 26th minute. Wilfredo Rodriguez didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Uruguay. Uruguay's Alberto Gisbert quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Leonardo Esteves, made in the 28th minute of the game. Francisco Seco received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 31st minute. Wilfredo Rodriguez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Joaquin Gayoso stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Jeff Beck's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. After 40 minutes, Jeff Beck made it 1-1 with a short kick to the right side. Uruguay's Joaquin Gayoso tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. 44 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Francisco Seco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Wilfredo Rodriguez narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Joaquin Gayoso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeff Beck in the 46th minute of the match. The first half was very even, with the score at 1-1 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Francisco Seco came up free with the goalie in the 57th minute, the Uruguay fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Francisco Seco couldn't finish the play. 59 minutes into the match, Maximiliano Escribano notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Pindobassu EC's Wilfredo Rodriguez. Wilfredo Rodriguez was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pindobassu EC's Humberto Diniz was substituted for Gilberto Cordeiro. 71 minutes into the match, Uruguay's goal looked a bit too open when Jeff Beck came free, but Joaquin Gayoso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dorian Hoffmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joaquin Gayoso having to interfere. Andrézinho França hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
