Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. A collision led to Hertha 1969 getting a freekick after 19 minutes play. Holger Diepgen hit a great ball. Lennard Finkenrath took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lennard Finkenrath showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes had been played when some careless play by Hertha 1969's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. 26 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Hertha 1969's Lennard Finkenrath. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Hertha 1969's goalkeeper Lennard Finkenrath, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hertha 1969's Lennard Finkenrath played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Hertha 1969 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beniamin Zbytniewski to maneuver through the defense. Lennard Finkenrath made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 46th minute of play. The Hertha 1969 players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lennard Finkenrath, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Hertha 1969's Lennard Finkenrath proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Hertha 1969 from getting a goal against them. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lennard Finkenrath having to interfere. Hertha 1969's Lennard Finkenrath played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 65th minute of play. In the 67th minute of the match Ecuador got a corner. Hertha 1969's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lennard Finkenrath came out and tried to block the shot, but Cristian Sancho slotted it home off the left post making it 1-5 in the 71st minute. When Felix Montenegro came up free with the goalie in the 75th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Felix Montenegro couldn't finish the play. After 80 played minutes Hertha 1969 got a freekick which was hit by Franz Neumann. Lennard Finkenrath made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 82nd minute. In the 86th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lennard Finkenrath saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Damien Narten sent away a hard shot on goal in the 89th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Lennard Finkenrath in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador played a much better game than Hertha 1969 and deserved their victory. The Hertha 1969 players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
