Tiago Eger hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Lakers FC defense, Moises Fernandino kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulão Corrêa. The Lakers FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulão Corrêa should have stopped the shot. Álvaro Paiva hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. 30 minutes into the match, El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Percival Magalhães. Abram Luque hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. Moises Fernandino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulão Corrêa having to interfere. If Romeu Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Ricardo Zorita made an important save on a dangerous shot by Percival Magalhães in the 37th minute. Sidnei Branco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. 42 minutes into the game, Moises Fernandino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Paulão Corrêa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ricardo Zorita was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Romeu Barbosa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-2 in the 47 minute of play.

El Salvador's Abram Luque suffered a sore thigh after 52 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 52 minutes, Romeu Barbosa mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lakers FC and the El Salvador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Moises Fernandino might have been able to make a better finish in the 57th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Paulão Corrêa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Moises Fernandino ran back to his position shaking his head. Percival Magalhães received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 63rd minute. Ricardo Zorita tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Moises Fernandino came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Fernandino couldn't finish the play. Romeu Barbosa was shown his second yellow card after 67 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. Romeu Barbosa hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. A hard shot 73 in the game by Moises Fernandino from a close distance when the talented Paulão Corrêa managed to make a qualified save. Lakers FC's players were relieved. Percival Magalhães took the ball and in the 75 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Marco Tamayo kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. When Moises Fernandino fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored El Salvador's protests and gave Moises Fernandino a yellow card for diving instead. El Salvador's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
