In the 6th minute, Waldemar Okopny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Unidad de Matanza getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Lenni Skensved hit a great ball. Jonatan Eguzki took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cassius Byrne, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 26 minutes had been played when some careless play by USA's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Martin Grøtterud was slow to take the kick. During this time Unidad de Matanza's players had a chance to rest. Unidad de Matanza's Martin Grøtterud was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Marco Day in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 34th minute of play forced Unidad de Matanza's goalkeeper Jonatan Eguzki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 35th minute USA were awarded a corner. Cassius Byrne went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 36th minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonatan Eguzki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Unidad de Matanza booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jenson Smith didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 39th match minute, Unidad de Matanza was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldemar Okopny to maneuver through the defense. Unidad de Matanza's Jonatan Eguzki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Edward Mcdonald in the 41st minute of play. Jonatan Eguzki showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cassius Byrne, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Michal Stehno tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The wind increased when Cassius Byrne made the kick off in the second half. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Máximo Kirchner's shot from short distance in the 73rd minute. Unidad de Matanza's Jonatan Eguzki proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 75th minute of the match, managed to save Unidad de Matanza from getting a goal against them. Unidad de Matanza made a substitution. Lateef Raal replaced Máximo Kirchner. Khalid Parry blasted a shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jonatan Eguzki having to make a save. After having played for 83 minutes, Nestor Bâru managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Unidad de Matanza's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nestor Bâru was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After a rather tough play, Unidad de Matanza's Waldemar Okopny got a free kick in the 85th minute. Sam Campbell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonatan Eguzki having to interfere. In the 92nd minute Khalid Parry shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonatan Eguzki saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 93rd minute Nestor Bâru shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The USA supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing USA would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
