Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Atlético de Caracas's Rolando Alley started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rolando Alley in the 9th minute of play. If Rolando Alley had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tom Wassenius in the 20th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 23rd minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute, Sixto Lluc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Nazmija Stojković went, in the 32nd minute, to the upper right corner, 2-0 was the resulting score. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Zarando Calva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. In the 38th minute Rolando Alley shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 42nd minute of the match, Rolando Alley got a very nice opportunity to score, but Julio Vera was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The supporters of Ecuador booed when Atlético de Caracas was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sixto Lluc didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

Atlético de Caracas made a substitution. Aires Laguno replaced Nazmija Stojković. The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. 56 minutes had been played when some careless play by Atlético de Caracas's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Luis Andino managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Luis Andino was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Zarando Calva breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 63rd minute, Daniel Zorita got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Juan Sebastián Puig kicked well hit freekick during the 65th minute of the match. In the 75thth minute of the game Tom Wassenius who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With his leg Zarando Calva managed to avoid a goal in the 76thth minute, when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With a little luck, Atlético de Caracas's Zarando Calva got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. 80 minutes into the match, Rolando Alley notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
