A collision led to Tama getting a freekick after 4 minutes play. Felipe Mino hit a great ball. Luis Andino struck a weak shot in the 5th minute. Mateo Medardo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. 9 minutes into the game, Felipe Mino cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Mateo Medardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 16th minute of play. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Mateo Medardo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Suibhne Ghee came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as Tama's Suibhne Ghee slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Julio Vera. That made the score 2-0 after 19 minutes of play. In the 21st match minute, Tama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Marco Santiago to maneuver through the defense. In the 23rd minute Felix Montenegro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Medardo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Suibhne Ghee in the 33rd minute of the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Suibhne Ghee's shot from short distance in the 37th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Suibhne Ghee dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Julio Vera, 3-0. Victorino Mogel received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 42nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiburcio Honrio hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Felipe Mino might have been able to make a better finish in the 46th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felipe Mino ran back to his position shaking his head. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

51 minutes into the game, Victorino Mogel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-0. Julio Vera was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 55th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 59th minute, Daniel Zorita ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Mateo Medardo was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Mateo Medardo in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Tiburcio Honrio hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Mateo Medardo firmly grabbed it by the left post. Tama made a substitution. Casimiro Valiente replaced Ovidio Fonda. 78 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Mateo Medardo narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Mateo Medardo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 81st minute of play. In the 83rd minute Simon Ferran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 88 minutes into the match, Tama's goalkeeper Mateo Medardo had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Agustín Saelices. Ernesto Lleir's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernesto Lleir helped the player get up and apologised. In the 93rd minute Ecuador were awarded a corner. Daniel Zorita went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Ecuador's Daniel Zorita to fire away a dangerous shot which Mateo Medardo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball.
