Luz Tejedor didn't quite understand what happened when in the 48 minute of the game managed to get a great opportunity for a goal and then missed the goal by a feet. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Julian Murillo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 53 minutes into the game, Joaquin Prats recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Ismael Furman. Peru made a substitution. Rafael Gallo replaced Julian Murillo. The throw-in from Yavuz Selimhan İğdemir in the 85th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Peru's Antonio Tenorio. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bruno Beugnet in the 87th minute of play. Rafael Gallo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ismael Furman read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 90th minute of play. In the 92nd minute of the game Alonso Berganza made a throw-in which Eliseo Alcocer played forward. Peru's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
