Sportivo Mela Banco's attentive Cayetano Chesus managed to snatch the ball when Guillermo Mariano made a throw-in in the 9th minute of the game. Zeledon Ilazki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 20th minute of play. Zeledon Ilazki stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Tomas Illescas's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. After 29 minutes of play, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zeledon Ilazki was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sportivo Mela Banco's Zeledon Ilazki played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 35th minute of play. Zeledon Ilazki made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 37th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-5 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Sportivo Mela Banco's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Patricio Costa 55 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-6. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zeledon Ilazki having to make a save. A sloppy throw-in by Salvador Gisbert in the 62nd minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Sportivo Mela Banco's Aureliano Romano. After 63 played minutes Sportivo Mela Banco got a freekick which was hit by Cayetano Chesus. An unexpected shot in the 64th minute by Patricio Costa got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 67th minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Tomas Illescass short, quick shot in the 71stth minute got Zeledon Ilazki to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 72nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zeledon Ilazki was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 74th minute. The score was now 0-8. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Sportivo Mela Banco was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Domingo Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. Guillermo Mariano hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Rigoberto Mina got a throw-in 83 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tomas Illescas. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Zeledon Ilazki in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 90 minutes into the match, Sportivo Mela Banco's goalkeeper Zeledon Ilazki had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tomas Illescas.
