When the match clock showed 65 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Ciro de Moraes sped through Peru's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Rolando Noboa. Peru's Eliseo Mina got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lobo Guará's Daniel Anaya played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 70th minute of play. In the 71st minute, Julian Murillo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Daniel Anaya was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Daniel Anaya showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Milagros Fraga, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. Peru were awarded a corner in the 75th minute after Lobo Guará's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Luz Tejedor took the corner. Daniel Anaya made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julian Murillo in the 90th minute of play. Rolando Noboa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ciro de Moraes in the 93rd minute of the match.
