Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Dexter Snell got the match started through his kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Sherman Sosa during the 3rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Paraguay booed when United States was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sherman Sosa didn't get a good kick on the ball. Renaldo David made a fantastic save in the 12th minute, when Jaime Pardo sent off a good shot on target. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dexter Snell in the 16th minute of the match. In the 18th minute, Jaime Pardo ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Renaldo David was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. An unexpected shot in the 21st minute by Hector Covarrubias got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Jaime Pardo succeeded in the game's 33rd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 2-0. After 37 played minutes United States got a freekick which was hit by Asher Springer. After 39 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Raul Venegas. When Karl Fleming came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the United States fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Karl Fleming couldn't finish the play. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Sherman Sosa in the 42nd minute of the match. The referee felt a red card was in order, 42 minutes into the game, when Alan Campos put in a rough tackle. Jacobo Nores went to the wrong direction when Karl Fleming was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Dexter Snell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jacobo Nores having to interfere. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hector Covarrubias to make the kick off. In the 56th match minute, United States was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Darron Healy to maneuver through the defense. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dexter Snell in the 58th minute of the match. After having played for 63 minutes, Dexter Snell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. United States's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dexter Snell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 74 minutes of play United States's Sherman Sosa was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 75th match minute, United States was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sherman Sosa to maneuver through the defense. The throw-in from Winford Dwyer in the 85th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Paraguay's Hector Covarrubias. Hector Covarrubias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the referee ended the match the Paraguay players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
