Spectators: 47 (Terracing: 36, Seating: 11, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tomas Illescas took the kick off in the first half of the match. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Santotis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After some careless play in the Venezuela defense, Armando Santotis kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. The Venezuela fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jonathan Ferrant should have stopped the shot. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Armando Santotis in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jonathan Ferrant prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Asier Abello's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Asier Abello helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Sporting Chilcano getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Asier Abello hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Lizardi Montanez tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The tension between the Venezuela and the Sporting Chilcano players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 44 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Jose Correa. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Santotis in the 46th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Sporting Chilcano's zone, Tomas Illescas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Lizardi Montanez came out of the goal and Tomas Illescas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Armando Santotis to make the kick off. In the 54th minute, Armando Santotis ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-4. In the 65th match minute, Sporting Chilcano was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Asier Abello to maneuver through the defense. Lizardi Montanez made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Costa in the 67th minute of play. When Rigoberto Mina fell near the penalty area in the 70th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Venezuela's protests and gave Rigoberto Mina a yellow card for diving instead. Rigoberto Mina hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. Sporting Chilcano's Vladimiro Veguri was substituted for Kevin Justo. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Rigoberto Mina got a free kick in the 71st minute. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Armando Santotis in the 72nd minute of play. Lizardi Montanez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Illescas in the 75th minute of the match. Baiarte Cerdeira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 80th minute. After 83 played minutes, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Lizardi Montanez came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Venezuela reached it. Modesto Pita kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Sporting Chilcano supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Sporting Chilcano would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
