An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 9th minute of play forced Izaltina FAD's goalkeeper Manuel Alves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 12 played minutes Izaltina FAD got a freekick which was hit by Wágner de Sena. 16 minutes into the game, Wágner de Sena was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Izaltina FAD's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Mexico the free kick. A collision led to Izaltina FAD getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Wágner de Sena hit a great ball. 20 minutes had been played when some careless play by Izaltina FAD's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After 20 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Facundo Cadaval. 23 minutes into the match, William Angelsø notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. Dante Lacasa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Matías Mendes came free with the goalkeeper in the 26th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dante Lacasa could save by the left post. If Luca Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Well-Well Waack in the 43rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dante Lacasa saved Mexico from getting behind. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Joel Gaona made the kick off in the second half. Manuel Alves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joel Gaona, who was totally free with the ball in the 59th minute. After 60 minutes Izaltina FAD's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick.
