The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Legacy Youth Academy. In the 28th minute of the match Panama got a corner. Legacy Youth Academy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Abraham Alguacil ran over to the corner to take the kick. After some careless play in the Legacy Youth Academy defense, Isidoro Sarmiento kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Lisandro Rameriz. The Legacy Youth Academy fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Lisandro Rameriz should have stopped the shot. Dylan Sarmiento kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. In the 45th minute, Abraham Alguacil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 48th minute of play forced Legacy Youth Academy's goalkeeper Lisandro Rameriz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The Legacy Youth Academy players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Panama were winning 0-1.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Reynaldo Cebo to strike the kick off in the second half.
