USA's defense didn't have a chance, in the 27th minute, when Edmílson Martins scored to the left of an out of position Marco Day, making the score, 2-0. Waldemar Przybylo kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. 32 minutes into the match, Club Sportivo Quilmes's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Pastor Firman reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pastor Firman made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 33rd minute of play. Edward Mcdonald took the ball and in the 36 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pastor Firman. Pastor Firman dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. USA's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cassius Byrne in the 43rd minute. The corner led USA's Zach Harrison to fire away a dangerous shot which Pastor Firman despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Radomil Mietus stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Monty Rogers could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Pastor Firman made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Monty Rogers in the 54th minute of play forced Club Sportivo Quilmes's goalkeeper Pastor Firman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edmílson Martins sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 68th minute Monty Rogers shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Pastor Firman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marco Day showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Radomil Mietus in the 69th minute of the match. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Radomil Mietus, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Club Sportivo Quilmes's Pastor Firman got control of the ball when Cassius Byrne tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 78th minute Radomil Mietus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some careless play in the Club Sportivo Quilmes defense, Monty Rogers kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pastor Firman. The Club Sportivo Quilmes fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pastor Firman should have stopped the shot. Club Sportivo Quilmes made a substitution. Emanuel Ladio replaced Silverio Chuan. USA's Khalid Parry was substituted for Monty Rogers. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. 85 minutes into the match, USA's goal looked a bit too open when David Oihan came free, but Marco Day reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Jacob May kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. If Khalid Parry had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pastor Firman came out of the goal in the 95th minute to try and stop a shot by USA's Khalid Parry. But to his dismay, Khalid Parry quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-4.
