Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mostafa Muhammed in the 13th minute of play. 15 minutes into the game, Efrain Moruga threw the ball into play from the sideline. MOEBIO's Ivan Reno quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In a very dangerous position, a player in Costa Rica fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 16th minute. Penalty! MOEBIO's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Aitor Tuga in the 26th minute. The corner ended in Aitor Tuga almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz did a great save. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mostafa Muhammed in the 27th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mostafa Muhammed in the 31st minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. MOEBIO's Jacinto Tirso got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mostafa Muhammed went, in the 37th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-3 was the resulting score. A collision led to MOEBIO getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Aitor Tuga hit a great ball. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 43rd minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Mostafa Muhammed kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. MOEBIO made a substitution. Hao Fan Chuan replaced Melchor Markel. In the 60th minute Vuk Urgovski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vuk Urgovski took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. After a rather tough play, MOEBIO's Ivan Reno got a free kick in the 65th minute. 68 minutes into the match, MOEBIO's goal looked a bit too open when Eliseo Noboa came free, but Delmiro Gorka reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delmiro Gorka showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 68th minute of the match. Vuk Urgovski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 70th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. 72 minutes into the game, Hao Fan Chuan recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Benito Sanz. Hao Fan Chuan showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-6. Aitor Tuga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Benito Sanz read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Benito Sanz didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 85th minute, which inside left pole to 0-8. 88 minutes into the match, Hao Fan Chuan had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hao Fan Chuan was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-9. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Aitor Tuga managed to get in a good position for a shot. MOEBIO's supporters rose to their feet, but Aitor Tuga was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 95th minute, Hao Fan Chuan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MOEBIO fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-10. MOEBIO played a much better game than Costa Rica and deserved their victory. The Costa Rica players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
