In the 5th minute, a hard, long distance shot from Ruben Malta hit the top of the crossbar and flew over the goal. Norino Tostado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dante Lacasa having to make a save. Norino Tostado received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Birila Graña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 16th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Norino Tostado got free with Dante Lacasa in the 25th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Maurinho Mendonça kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Birila Graña made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 30th minute of play. In the 35th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Birila Graña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 38th minute of the match. When Maurinho Mendonça came up free with the goalie in the 41st minute, the Claretiano FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Maurinho Mendonça couldn't finish the play. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Maurinho Mendonça in the 43rd minute of the match. In the 45th minute Claretiano FC were awarded a corner. Ruben Malta went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Ruben Malta almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa did a great save. In the 47th minute, Maurinho Mendonça reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Dante Lacasa. The goal made the score 2-0. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Joel Gaona to strike the kick off in the second half. Claretiano FC's Birila Graña played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 52nd minute of play. 52 minutes into the match, Claretiano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Birila Graña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Birila Graña showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 55th minute of the match. When Mexico's Alberto Tafalla in the 59th minute got a chance for a shot 59th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Alberto Tafalla scored 2-1 in the 64th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Birila Graña, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 67 minutes into the match, Claretiano FC's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Birila Graña reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With his leg Birila Graña managed to avoid a goal in the 69thth minute, when Mexico's Alberto Tafalla fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The supporters of Mexico booed when Claretiano FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Tiadoro Folguera didn't get a good kick on the ball. Claretiano FC's Benigno Viñal was substituted for Norino Tostado. After a rather tough play, Claretiano FC's Tiadoro Folguera got a free kick in the 71st minute. Tiadoro Folguera lost his temper 74 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. Claretiano FC made a substitution. Gelacio Salceda replaced Qu Lei Chang. After 74 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Claretiano FC! Claretiano FC's Birila Graña proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Claretiano FC from getting a goal against them. After 81 played minutes Claretiano FC got a freekick which was hit by Benigno Viñal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luca Rouco during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Birila Graña made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Lautaro Mancebo sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 92nd minute of play forced Claretiano FC's goalkeeper Birila Graña to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gelacio Salceda, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mexico were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
