Anak Selby started the match with the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anak Selby in the 3rd minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gaona sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Manuel Aurelianu during the 5th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 6th minute, Manuel Aurelianu hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Anak Selby could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 10th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Begu Ganjang's Tạ I played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 13th minute of play. Facundo Cadaval charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Facundo Cadaval the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval got a free kick in the 15th minute. Tạ I made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 18th minute of play. 29 minutes into the match, Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Anak Selby. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 31st minute of play forced Begu Ganjang's goalkeeper Tạ I to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Anak Selby got free with Dante Lacasa in the 32nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 36 minutes into the game, Macos Graciani threw the ball into play from the sideline. Begu Ganjang's Sebastian Cipău quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. 39 minutes into the match, Begu Ganjang's Anak Selby sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Dante Lacasa narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 40 minutes Mexico's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Manuel Aurelianu who took care of the corner kick. Anak Selby recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The supporters of Mexico booed when Begu Ganjang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Manuel Aurelianu didn't get a good kick on the ball. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Begu Ganjang's Tạ I played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Joel Gaona in the 52nd minute of play. Tạ I was a little too slow when Joel Gaona got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 54th minute. The score was now 1-1. Lautaro Mancebo did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-2 to the left of a surprised Tạ I 58 minutes into the match. The audience was convinced that Joel Gaona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tạ I was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. Arif Nihat Tekin's late challenge caught a Mexico's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Arif Nihat Tekin helped the player get up and apologised. Mexico's Bautista Elvira was substituted for Lautaro Mancebo. The supporters of Begu Ganjang booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Leonardo Leoz didn't get a good kick on the ball. With an all-out effort, Mexico's Tạ I threw himself towards the right post 79 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Joel Gaona, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Begu Ganjang's Tạ I proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 82nd minute of the match, managed to save Begu Ganjang from getting a goal against them. An unexpectedly hard shot by David Trezeguet in the 84th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
