After a defensive mix-up in Uruguay's zone, Dráusio Moura stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Joaquin Gayoso came out of the goal and Dráusio Moura tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dráusio Moura received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Joaquin Gayoso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Uruguay's Camilo Franco got a free kick in the 91st minute. In the 95th minute, Alberto Gisbert hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Uruguay fully deserved thier win.
