Daniel Zorita's late challenge caught a Xarilaou FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Zorita helped the player get up and apologised. The Xarilaou FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Ecuador were winning 1-2.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Thodoris Loubakis was the one to do the kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Kostas Kourmouzis in the 55th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 62 played minutes Xarilaou FC got a freekick which was hit by Fotis Mitsis. In the 69thth minute of the game Fanis Skaltsas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 71st match minute, Xarilaou FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fotis Mitsis to maneuver through the defense. Xarilaou FC made a substitution. The tension between the Xarilaou FC and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Xarilaou FC getting a freekick after 86 minutes play. Achilleas Kanavatsos hit a great ball. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Thodoris Loubakis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 94th minute Stratos Kabantais shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
