Equipo's Ismael Furman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 23rd minute of play. Bruno Beugnet might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Rolando Noboa. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bruno Beugnet ran back to his position shaking his head. 25 minutes into the match, Peru's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Beugnet came free, but Rolando Noboa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Rolando Noboa stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bruno Beugnet's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 33rd minute Eliseo Mina shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Furman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the game, Yavuz Selimhan İğdemir was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Equipo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peru the free kick. After 36 played minutes Equipo got a freekick which was hit by Yavuz Selimhan İğdemir. In the 38th minute Julian Murillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ismael Furman saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Luz Tejedor came up free with the goalie in the 43rd minute, the Peru fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luz Tejedor couldn't finish the play. Peru's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Luz Tejedor in the 46th minute.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Julian Murillo was the one to do the kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Julian Murillo in the 54th minute of play forced Equipo's goalkeeper Ismael Furman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ismael Furman made an important save on a dangerous shot by Milagros Fraga in the 56th minute. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Equipo's goalie and right to Julian Murillo. Peru's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Bruno Beugnet was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Bruno Beugnet during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card.
