The supporters of Manchester United booed when Merengue FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Raimundo Gonsalvo didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 5 minutes, Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Mateo Llorienzo to make any attempt to save it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Banaszak in the 8th minute of play forced Manchester United's goalkeeper Iosif Puric to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mateo Llorienzo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ivan Copil, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roland Banaszak in the 12th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Iosif Puric prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Iosif Puric took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Roland Banaszak, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Mateo Llorienzo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ivan Copil in the 15th minute of play. Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 17thth minute, Mateo Llorienzo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Manchester United's Iosif Puric played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Domingo Jago in the 20th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Domingo Jago was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Merengue FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Manchester United the free kick. After 21 played minutes Merengue FC got a freekick which was hit by Domingo Jago. In the 33rd minute, Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Mateo Llorienzo. The goal made the score 2-0. Ivan Copil struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Mateo Llorienzo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Manchester United. Iosif Puric came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Merengue FC's Darwin Núñez. But to his dismay, Darwin Núñez quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ivan Copil to make the kick off. In the 54th minute Kosmas Simertzidis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Mateo Llorienzo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 55 minutes Merengue FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt who took care of the corner kick. If Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 64 minutes into the match, Manchester United's goal looked a bit too open when Darwin Núñez came free, but Iosif Puric reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Manchester United's Ivan Copil in the 67th minute got a chance for a shot 67th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Merengue FC's goalie prevented a goal. Iosif Puric made a fantastic save in the 68th minute, when Roland Banaszak sent off a good shot on target. In the 73rdth minute of the game Ivan Copil who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 77 minutes had been played when some careless play by Merengue FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Erwin-Alexander Verduyckt was slow to take the kick. During this time Manchester United's players had a chance to rest. Gaetano Raich kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Roland Banaszak's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Iosif Puric firmly grabbed it by the left post. Roland Banaszaks short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Iosif Puric to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 84 minutes into the match, Merengue FC's goal looked a bit too open when Ivan Copil came free, but Mateo Llorienzo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A hard shot 86 in the game by Roland Banaszak from a close distance when the talented Iosif Puric managed to make a qualified save. Manchester United's players were relieved. Roland Banaszaks short, quick shot in the 87thth minute got Iosif Puric to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. 89 minutes into the game, Manchester United's Kosmas Simertzidis nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Mateo Llorienzo made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-1. Merengue FC's Mateo Llorienzo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ivan Copil in the 93rd minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ivan Copil in the 94th minute of play forced Merengue FC's goalkeeper Mateo Llorienzo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 96th minute, Ivan Copil got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
